i drove to fremont yesterday and visited samantha before she left for hopkins. its quite pathetic how we could barely find anything to say even though we've barely seen each other at all this entire summer but i guess we can always email each other if necessary.
i like how three college freshmen cant make a damn telescope work. no names cuz its too embarassing. mars was nothing especially interesting. it looked like any other star. a little brighter perhaps but nothing worth all the newspaper coverage its getting. on the other hand, even though i havent read a single article about it, that lightning storm was freaking awesome.
yay for late night talks and drives. i went to two parks i never knew existed. its always fun to look at deer and enjoy the scenery. and to trespass too :p

my mom and relatives left for tahoe yesterday morning and wont be back until thursday. which... is tomorrow unfortunately. yay for temporary freedom though.
i went running at 7am yesterday. go me. the workers we hired to trim a tree broke our kitchen window. boo them.
annnnndddd leo's leaving for usc today so we had a goodbye thing last night. we gathered at my house then went to tk. thennn he wanted to ball and when we got to miller, it turned out that the gym was open. so after the guys played ball for a while, we just messed around in the gym. some of us climbed the ladder thing to go to the top of the gym. then we played wallball and dodgeball and other elementary school games until the janitor person had to close up.
life's more interesting when my mom's not around :)

home. finally. after ten flights (taipei, hongkong, beijing, shenzhen, taipei, sanfrancisco, london, rome, london, sanfrancisco) and spending over one month abroad (minus those three days in between asia and europe most of which i spent at franks anyway) im home.
highlights of asia
-cheap shopping
-cheap food
-great wall and my mini souvenir version of it.
-one and two dollar ice cream. 12 cents and 24 cents in us dollars.
-yay to china airlines and their yummy airline food and free cards :D
highlights of europe
-monte carlo. the nicest cars ive ever seen. 8 ferraris, an aston martin, rolls royces, bentleys, shelby, and so many mercedes amg's that you'd think they were common or something
-nice. beyootiful beach. with rocks instead of sand. and lots of topless sunbathers. unfortunately, most were fat old women.
-pisa. leaning tower and my little souvenir version of it :D
-vatican city. the sistine chapel is awesome. i could sit there for hours just looking at the painting. in fact, i did.
-rome. too many sites to mention. parthenon, colosseum, spanish steps, fountain of trevi...
-david. i forgot where we saw him but he's the most awesome statue ive ever seen.
-heat wave. record temperatures in europe. was over 100 fahrenheit in england and hotter in italy and france. forest fires galore. thankfully they were all on the outskirts of the cities, not in the center where we stayed.
-driving. the people drive liike the people in china. well.. not quite as bad, but close. random lane changes, general lack of regard as far as traffic lights are concerned.... and my mom never listening to my navigation directions so us repeatedly getting lost
-my driving. it was a perfectly straight highway for almost an hour and my mom was getting bored and sleepy so i drove for her. the road immediately turns into like... a two lane version of highway 17 with crazy curves and endless tunnels but the roads arent nearly as wide which is really no fun when you dont know the road, there's a crazy 18-wheeler in the lane next to you that cant seem to stay in his lane, you cant find the stupid headlights so you cant see in the tunnels, and have no international drivers license. it was still fun though.
-laptop. especially my mom stealing it whenever she had any free time so she could play spider solitaire.
-shopping. i got a new purse! i needed something cute to replace my pink one that got jacked at glow. and it seems that going to china before going to europe is not a good idea because everything (food, clothes, etc) all seems dreadfully expensive.
-british airways. personal tv's and tons of channels with lots of movies. i saw the life of david gale, anger management, and how to lose a guy in 10 days on the way home. i forgot what i watched on the way there but im sure it was interesting too
-ciao. when people are hanging up on the phone and the say bye its "ciaociao" and it sounds like chowchow. its funnier when you hear it. really.
-and last but not least, food. dreadfully overpriced but incredibly delicious. pizza and pasta are yum. gelato is yum x 100000.
