looook i'm posting. cuz tree and daphne want me to.

i left for iowa thursday morning and got back sunday afternoon and uhh.... all i have to say is that grinnell is one craaaazy school. hella wild parties and even stranger people. twas a lovely weekend but i think i'd change too much if i went there. i mean... think about it. its in the middle of nowhere. of course they do odd stuff to have fun .__. but yes. UCSD for meeee. i might go to claremont mckenna or boston college or umich if i get in from the waitlists, but thats not very likely. yay i get to be a triton. go me.

"wat a productive break, haven't had better" -tracy's profile. i dont think i've ever had a better break, but not in terms of productivity.

monday i caught up on the sleep i lost from iowa and i got a pretty new cell phone. siemens ct 56 and its brown and it MATCHES my car and my sweater and mochas and lotsa other things :D:D my mom was going through my phonebook on my phone and like.. she saw "tree home" and thought i should rename it to "tree house." and frank and yang came over and we watched the transporter and talked until like... 3 in the morning
tuesday i woke up around 7 to go shopping with tree cuz her dad had some convention thing in san francisco. we went to denny's and shared a breakfast and wandered around to random stores and to old navy where i bought pretty white sandals and striped sandals and fishy boxers and striped boxers! (i was in a stripes mood) then we went to some san francisco mall thing and heard a looovely song (musiq - don't change in case you wanna go dl it ;) and got lots of other stuff and we were gonna share a lunch at steak escape and i ordered a 12" but they gave me a 7" and i went and told them so we got the 12" for the 7" price :D anddd we got the same shirts from express (but mine are in prettier colors ;) i saw my dress at the jessica mcclintock store but they only had like.. big sizes... it kind of sucks to be normal sometimes. we passed bulgari and there was like... some big deal going on over there. we saw a model walking around and smiling and stuff and there was a photographer taking pictures of her and stuff. and there were limos and caterers and other stuff like that too. and we went to burberry too and we saw bears and umbrellas and golf bags and everything in that plaid pattern. then we went to chinatown and acted like tourists and bought cheap souvenirs and stuff. then we froze for a while and found her dad and had a really yummy dinner at the marriott. then frank yang and jen came over and we watched ghostship and tree and i were like.. hiding under the blanket. we watched i spy to make it a happy mood but i fell asleep :P
wednesday was the girls hair and movie day thing. i was hella dead after a whole day of shopping so i went at like... 3... and they messed with my hair and then tree wanted to go to valley fair so did a little shopping again and then we got lots of wheat thins and watched weird chinese movies at franks house.
thursday i went to davis to visit jason with frank and sam shyu and yang. the rain kept the smell down so it seemed like a nice little place. the dorms are tiny though... jason's DOUBLE is smaller than my room. blahs to that. yang is a dork and played game cube like... the entire time... who in the world drives two hours and plays video games x__X and then they dropped me off at the yes collaborative meeting cuz i'd have been late otherwise. when i got home from yc frank and yang had already picked up tree and brought her to my house so we went out for dinner and watched the lakers game and played card games and did pushups and talked until like... 6 in the morning. then we decided to go watch the sunrise so we go up montebello with frank driving a MANUAL car. actually, i sort of slept on the way up so i'm not too sure how it went, but no one died or was injured so i'm sure his driving was fine. it was hella cold up there so we went back down and back to my house. frank and tree were sleeping and yang started like... pimping on monica or something so i did random stuff with my computer. and then yang came back to my room so we all slept until 4:30ish in the afternoon. then they went home and i played badminton with my family. we rallied for a long time but only played two games... first was for dinner (we won 15-11) second was for dessert (we won 15-10) and now i'm hella sore from pushups and from badminton. but sore is good cuz that means i actually had a good workout!

and i still havent done my homework so i feel hella unproductive but i bonded lots with tree and frank and yang :D blaaaahhhh i wish life could always be this fun :(

i finished reading siddhartha. i didnt really like the book except for the two scenes where the sons take leave their fathers and also when siddhartha is reflecting about the irony of this cycle. it really touched me for some odd reason. i felt so bad for the fathers.... i dont understand how they could do that to their parents. leaving at a young age and never even coming back and the parents dying, never knowing how things will turn out for their children. i wonder if thats how my mom feels about me not reaching her expectations. except i'm not leaving her... i just didnt turn out the way she wanted me to. i really hope not since its not like i'm running away or anything. blahs how depressing.

and for those of you that dont know, i'm at grinnell in iowa. its a lovely lovely school. if it werent in the middle of nowhere i'd choose this college in an instant. but it is. so i do not know .__.

annie get your gun: rawr to the annoying indian stereotype. gah it was so irritating. but it was still pretty good. i liked some of the songs so much that i went and downloaded them but to be honest, i prefer amanda's singing to all of these weird broadway versions. i'd watch it again to hear her sing. goshhh she sings so well. and she doesnt have that awful twang i'm hearing in these broadway versions either x__x
ucsd: we made it there and back in less than 24 hours. we left at like... 1 in the morning. my mom drove during the night and when the sun came up, we switched and i drove the rest. at ucsd i walked around and talked to some of the people at the booths but it was pretty boring.... the sessions and stuff didnt really start until 11 and my dad was coming at like... 1 so i just left and we went to the LA airport to pick him up. then we went shopping in LA and i got some stuff but not a prom dress... i saw these hella pretty jessica mcclintock dresses but my mom thought they were overpriced for imitations so we decided that i'm probably just gonna end up buying the real one or something cuz it has better workmanship and will last longer if i ever have the occasion to wear it in the future.... and that stupid shopping district close at 6 so we went to get some food then my dad drove us home and we got home in like... 5 hours... good stuff, eh? :DD
dad: he's back from hong kong and he doesnt have sars :P his job interview went wellll and he got a hella nice job offer! poor guy will be living off in another country again though :\
phone booth: i watched it with jason today. omg hella scary. reminded me of one hour photo in that it was incredibly... twisted... but i never finished seeing one hour photo. i should probably do that sometime. i'd recommend phone booth though. its... interesting... and different...
