monica needed to use my computer at 3 and she said it'd only "take a minute" so i let her. i dont actually know how long it took her but it was long enough for me to fall asleep. when i woke up at 7, monica had already fallen asleep, probably while reading or doing homework, so i turn off her light for her and go to my mom (who's lights are also on) to ask about dinner. keep in mind it was only 7. my mom was asleep as well ._.

i've kind of lost interest in writing this. its just a log of the things i do each day... or.. each week it seems now. actually.. i dont think anyone writes in their blogs/xangas much anymore. it seems like the fad has passed... oh well since i'm here i might as well write
chicago: was alright... i watched it with monica. it was *interesting* in my opinion. monica liked it. if you're really into dance then go watch it i guess
25th hour: was *interesting* as well. i thought it was alright but i dont think the rest of the girls liked it very much
watsonville: sucked. booo to watsonville. neither monica nor i broke.
highway 17: is fun. my mom let me drive home cuz she was feeling really sick and i liked driving through the mountains and the twisty road. fun stuff :)
alex's party: was fun. karaoke-ing and osama(sp?) :p
foxtrot: after going to barne's and nobel like.. 5 times.. they finally have the new foxtrot anthology. yayayayayayayayay!

riteaid health and beauty expo: it was hella fun. we got soooo much stuff.. movie voucher things, posters, medicines, dishwashing detergents, lipstick nailpolish mascara shampoo advil tylenol aleve excedrin motrin tums rolaids airheads trident gum smarties licorice sunglasses and tons of other things. i like free stuff :)
keyboard and mouse: i got new ones! no more putting up with people that whine about my mouse. it works it works! and they're prettyyyy colors: black and silver! the only downside is that my tnet sucks now cuz i'm not used to this keyboard : ( but thats okay cuz my mouse works! that more than makes up for it
shawshank redemption: i watched it today! its a hella good movie. if you havent seen it, watch it. its like... one of my favorite movies now. i like happy endings :)

sigh. i'm bored and i want to go out but everyone's out already. how depressing. i guess i'll just play random games and make stars.
english: got raped by the final. the first bad thing was that we had to choose our essay topics. now this may seem good, but i spent a good five minutes trying to decide wha to write about. and about ten minutes into my actual writing, i realized that i didnt like my topic anymore because all of my comments seemed like plot and not analysis but by then it was too late. then the multiple choice part was even worse, especially with that last sonnet i really didnt understand at all. oh well... a b in good enough i guess...
electronics: it was decent. i got a 95 so i kept my a in the class.
other: i checked my stats grade and its an a, and so is my gov grade. so all i have left is spanish and lit, and spanish i'm pretty sure i got an a and english i think i got a b sooo yeah. thats that. i also need to finish my grinnell supplement but at least that isnt due for a few more days. ::sighs:: i should be happy that i'm a second semester senior and all but.. i dunno... this year hasn't been going too well for me.
another other: my grandparents are coming back this weekend. they're taking my car soo i get to learn to drive my dad's car. its a lot bigger.. its a lot harder to park and stuff :\

gov: was alright. the final wasn't too hard and i had a 95 going into the final soooo i think i'll be alright. but grrr to that stupid congressional research thing and grrrr to pugh who gave me a 10 out of 40 on it. and double grrrrrrr to the fact that i need to redo it. actually, i probably dont need to, but i will just to be safe.
i'm scared of ap english tomorrow. i hope i can get an a ._.

i just checked my spanish grade again and it turns out that i actually have a 97.5! 95 was monica's grade! that means that i can practically faaail the final and still get an a! and seeing as i diiid fail the final, my chances of getting an a look much higher now. yay. i am happy.

yesterday at 6 i was like "hmm.. i dont have anything to do..." and normally i'd play tnet then, but if started playing tnet i wouldnt sleep till late so i decided i'd just sleep right then, even though it was 6. so i slept until 10 cuz my stupid stomach kept growling and woke me up. but i figured that if i ate, i'd just sleep immediately afterwards anyway so there was no point to eating and i spend the next half hour trying to fall asleep against the growling of my stomach. but then i just turned over onto my stomach and it shut up. :D
stats: was okay. having a 96 in a class makes me worry a lot less. most of the test was pretty easy, except for the last 20 problems or so. i think i probably missed like... 5-10 of them but thats okay... i only need like.. a C to keep my A so i think i'll be fine
spanish: i died. like.. failed type of died. to start off with, yesterday's written portion sucked cuz i didnt understand what was going on and writing about theme and meaning and language in english is bad enough but in spanish it kills me. then today... first the oral portion. twenty seconds is like.. nothing. i couldn't hear the questions because everyone (myself included) kept going overtime and i kept repeating myself because i couldnt say things properly and i could barely get in words in edgewise. one of my twenty second answers was like "es importante porque la contaminacion atmosfer--atmosferica puede causar can-*beeeeeep*" yees. that was bad. then we had the listening part which i apparently missed half of, and then the actual written part which... confused the hell out of me cuz i dont know my verb tenses at all. i think i got like.. a C or lower on the final. ugh i hope my grade is high enough so that i'll keep my A :\

-chip (my hamster that monica was taking care of) died on tuesday. we dug it a grave and buried it in a coffin/box.
-my mom's dad had a stroke on wednesday. he's paralyzed on the left side.
-i slept at 3 in the morning yesterday and i'm tired as hell and i didnt get to take a nap today
-i got home at 9:30 today because of tutoring, rearranging the furniture in my aunt's house so it'd be easier for my grandpa to get around, then lsd controversy stuff. omg controversy is such a mess. and i hella sucked that round. well, everyone sucked, but i sucked more than everyone else did. my speech and debate skills have degenerated into nothingness. its almost embarassing. actually, forget the almost. it is embarassing. they all must think i'm the most slow-minded and stuttering-est person in the world. ugh. and nooow i get to do that one page lit hw and start the stooopid gov project. funfun.
on a happier note, i connected all the tv cables at my aunts house and it actually worked! i got skillz ;)

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun
threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly
without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office.
The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had
no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge.
"We want to see the president," the man said softly.
"He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped. "We'll wait," the lady
replied. For hours the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple
would finally become discouraged and go away. They didn't and the secretary
grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it
was a chore she always regretted.
"Maybe if you see them for a few minutes, they'll leave," she said to
him.
He sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance
obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, but he detested gingham dresses
and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office. The president, stern
faced and with dignity, strutted toward the couple.
The lady told him, "We had a son who attended Harvard for one year. He
loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was
accidentally killed. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to
him, somewhere on campus."
The president wasn't touched.... He was shocked.
"Madam," he said, gruffly, "we can't put up a statue for every person
who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a
cemetery." "Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to
erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard." The
president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun
suit, then exclaimed, "A building! Do you have any earthly idea how
much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the
physical buildings here at Harvard." For a moment the lady was silent.
The president was pleased. Maybe he could get rid of them now. The lady
turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a
university? Why don't we just start our own?"
Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment. Mr. and Mrs.
Leland Stanford got up and walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California
where they established the university that bears their name, Stanford
University, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

i went to colin's house at like 10 last night and he gave me my presenttt. its a cute santa thingy and it had candy in it! we watched simpsons and sang to random pop songs until other ppl came. i didnt really know the junior ppl except jen, and once again, we were the only girls there :P then we watched dogma but colin's parents came so we moved over to my house, only to discover that monica and her little friends moved to our house as well. we hung around upstairs in my room for a while and tossed popcorn at each other and when it was almost 12, we went downstairs to watch the countdown but the tv wasnt on and we couldnt find the channel so we were like.. one second too late. and thennn we watched dogma and played n64. then all the junior ppl left at like 4, but morgan was bored at home, so tom and colin went back to his house and picked him up. we watched monica and her friends give monica a makeover and we watched the austin powers movie on tv for the rest of the morning until they decided to go get breakfast and i decided to sleep. and yees that was my new years eve.
resolutions:
1. stop proctrastinating
2. get off my lazy bum and exercise
3. be nicer to people. actually listen to people, instead of just nodding and pretending to pay attention and letting it go in one ear and out the other.
